Objectives


The purpose of this module is to familiarize faculty, staff, and students with the regulations and information about the humane care and judicious use of animals in research.

When finished, you should be able to:

  • Understand the federal laws and regulations that govern the humane care and use of animals in research.
  • Understand institutional policy that governs review and approval of research involving animals.
  • Understand the required review process to conduct research involving animals.
  • Know whom to contact on campus for additional information about the care and use of animals in research, and where to obtain necessary application forms.
